Thank you for visiting the EDUC 762 Team 3 Assessment in eLearning Midterm Toolbox. The group members for this project include Marsha (Wisconsin), Greg (Arizona) and Kris (Dubai, UAE). As you can see our geographic locations are varied and across many time zones so we found that the WetPaint wiki for us worked better than attempting to write and edit many Word documents via email. As you navigate through these pages you will find our analysis of various assessment tools that an instructor can use in an on-line class.
Reflection Assessment Tools – Marsha writes about one way to assess by using a time honored method of “reflection” with the use of a blog specifically the one found at
Blogger.com.
Peer to Peer Collaboration Tools – Greg reviews wikis a tool that, in addition to enabling the students to build teamwork skills, fosters writing and critical thinking. Greg further notes that
Wikipedia is the “archetypal wiki with over a quarter million entries”.
Course Tracking Tools - Patrick found that there are many software packages used to assist in the process of keeping track of student performance assessment. He examined
Micrograde and noted that the true test of these tools is their transparency and integration to the Course Management System.
Discussion Tools – Kristin discusses VoiceThread, a fairly new software that offers innovative ways to engage students in group conversations by incorporating a variety of media types. The
Project Conclusions page provides a wrap-up of the project and also some team comments about this experience.Midterm Description and Information spells out the requirements and grading rubric for our team to follow. The
