Plan Evaluation - E Learning for Educators
Overarching goals: Form an authentic online learning community

Reasons: improve retention (my online retention hovers below 50 %) and if they do not stay, they cannot grow and learn, improve the quantity and quality of online discussions, improve the attainment of course outcomes and measured by final exam performance.

Top 5 Criteria

  1. Facilitation of authentic interaction: student to student and student to instructor
  2. Integration of assessment with desired learning outcomes
  3. Opportunity for multiple learning paths through the content
  4. Integration of self reflection into the content – a movement toward constructivism
  5. Use of a variety of instructional technologies for delivery of the course

Self evaluation

  1. This particular unit involved student to self evaluation and student to student evaluation. That is, students, online, would collaborate in order to solve the 3 specific objectives. I also have shaped the discussion board topic to both faciliate interaction and shape an authentic and engaged discussion.
  2. I feel pretty good about both the specfic formative evaluations associated with the 3 objectives as well as the summative evaluation at the end of the unit.
  3. I have attempted to do this with both the 3 levels of content material as well as the ability to use multiple self checks curing the process.
  4. I continue to be concerned about the time imposed on learners. I have a proposed self reflection based upon the reflection we have conducted in our class and that I have conducted in EDUC 760.
  5. I have had a beginning - this instructional design includes audio, images, online collaboration and an online simulation.
